Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books for People Who Liked [X] Book

Top Ten Books for People Who Liked [INSERT BOOK TITLE] Book
Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they post a new Top Ten list  that bloggers are welcome to join in and answer.

Hello fellow readers! Today's topic for Top Ten Tuesday is to pick a certain book and recommend books that have similar concepts. Here are my picks. I chose 3 books to base my recommendations on.

If you've read and liked:
Fairy Tales by the Grimm Brothers and Hans Christian Andersen

You might also enjoy:

CINDER by Marissa Meyer. A futuristic-Asian take on the classic story of Cinderella. Get to see a Cinderella character as the best mechanic there is in all of New Beijing, that mechanic is not only a smart chic, but a Cyborg too. Cool huh?

THE GOOSE GIRL by Shannon Hale. I've seen it be called by other bloggers as the "Ultimate Fairy Tale Retelling". Not only is it based on the Grimm Brothers' story of the Goose Girl but it takes on a whole new fantasy adventure that is absolutely amazing. I've read this for about 5-6 times already and I still can't get enough of it.

SHADOW AND BONE by Leigh Bardugo. This isn't exactly a retelling of any Fairy Tale from the Grimm's or Andersen but the fantasy story is just as beautiful. It's like a modern kind of fairy tale and a rather darker one.

BEFORE MIDNIGHT by Cameron Dokey. Not all stepmothers are evil and/or wicked. This book is a short but very interesting retelling on the story of Cinderella.

SCARLET by A.C. Gaughen. Not exactly based on a story by the Grimm's or Andersen but I included this for the concept of it retelling a classic tale. Anyway, Scarlet is a retelling of the classic Robin Hood story where we meet Will Scarlet, one of Robin Hood's most cunning thieves. Except we find out that Will is actually a girl. Get to see what troubles lies within Robin and his band of thieves with this book.

Mythology: Timeless Tales of Gods and Heroes by Edith Hamilton

You might also enjoy:

TOUCH OF FROST by Jennifer Estep. Come see teens gifted with abilities of the early warriors such as Vikings, Amazons and Spartans. Find out what lurks within Mythos Academy and how the gods and goddesses choose Champions to fight for the sake of man kind.

RADIANT DARKENSS by Emily Whitman. The god of Underworld is not as cruel and dark as everyone thinks he is. This retelling of the story of Hades and Persephone is such a sweet and refreshing way of looking at how they ended up together and why the stories say that Persephone was kidnapped by Hades.

WILDEFIRE by Karsten Knight. Another book taking a new turn on mythology, although this one is based on a Polynesian Volcano goddess it's still a lot of fun.

GRAVE MERCY by Robin LaFevers. You know how humans are said to serve certain gods and/or goddesses? Well get to see the handmaidens of the god of Death, St. Mortain, take on the missions to carry out his work.

DARK DESCENDANT by Jenna Black. I still don't know if this is an Adult or Young Adult book. It kind of fits both genres in terms of the content so anyway, this is a modern take on how the gods and goddesses pass on their gifts to their human descendants. But before any descendant takes hold of a god's ability, one must earn it... by killing another descendant. See Nikki Glass step into this topsy turvy world that changes her life forever.

I hope this list helps you out in some way. Happy reading!
