The Filipino ReaderCon is near! Take part in this awesome meme, just visit this link and let's all spread the word!

"Reading Habits and Book Formats. Where and how do you read? Can you read anywhere and everywhere, or do you need a certain place/mood/state of mind to get reading? Do you read more in the morning or at night or any minute that you can? Where and how do you usually read? Are you exclusively for print, or do you go for ebooks more than print? Have you ever tried audiobooks?"

Where and how do you read?
I read mostly at home, in my bedroom.

On my bed, I shift between positions: lying on my back or on my stomach then I lay sideways (shift between left and right side) when I get tired. When I get uncomfortable lying down, I sit on the bed, lean on the wall with a pillow on my back and my book resting on another pillow on my lap. Once I feel some part of me aching, I shift again. It’s a cycle. Ha, ha!

There are also times that I sit in front of my computer, the book either in my hands or on the desk (so make room, keyboard!).

Can you read anywhere and everywhere, or do you need a certain place/mood/state of mind to get reading?
I try to read at any chance I get, as long as I have time to kill, like when I’m waiting for something or someone. If I’m in the car and stuck in traffic [and not the designated driver], I read. When I’m in line for whatever reason or sitting in a coffee shop, I read. As long as there aren’t any blaring sounds (voices, music, etcetera), or anything else distracting, I can manage to read. I also sneak some reading time (just a chapter or 2) when I’m at work (shhh!), during lunch time or whenever I need a short break.

Do you read more in the morning or at night or any minute that you can?
I don’t have a specific time for reading but I find myself mostly reading at night before going to bed. There are too many “hindrances” during the day [like work and chores, just kidding. *wink, wink*] so night time is the best. Plus, it helps that everyone is already asleep, so when I suddenly cry while reading no one will give me their weird looks.

Are you exclusively for print, or do you go for ebooks more than print?
I prefer printed copies. I like the feel and smell of books, and the view of seeing them on my shelf. My book collection consist more of paperbacks. I have a few hard covers around but I prefer buying paperbacks since they’re less expensive. I own a Nook just for the e-ARCs that I request for, and ebooks that are sent to me for review purposes, also, for the books that are only available electronically. Other than that, I always go for the printed ones.

Have you ever tried audiobooks?
Yes, I have tried an audio book, just once. I didn’t enjoy it. I prefer imagining how the characters and their names would sound like on my own. And since I’m more of a visual learner/person, the auditory approach doesn’t appeal to me when it comes to books.
