Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Bookish Confessions

Top Ten Bookish Confessions
Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they post a new Top Ten list  that bloggers are welcome to join in and answer.

Hello fellow readers!

We all have pet peeves, secrets and crazy mannerisms in our own book worlds... and it's about time we admit them. So, here I go... here are my bookish confessions:
  1. When I was in college, while using the 3rd floor library of my university (where you’re not allowed to check-out a book), I was reading the Grimm Brothers’ Fairy Tales. Since we’re not allowed to take home the books we read there, I would dog ear the last page I was reading and come back the next day. I did that day after day until I finally finished the book. It was about 800+ pages… Imagine how many times I dog-eared that book. I’m so sorry.

  2. These recent weeks I keep telling the people around me (namely my family and my boyfriend) that I haven’t bought any new books. And when a few books come in the mail, I tell them those were preorders I made months ago when in fact, I just purchase them weeks ago. I can’t help it. Shhhh! Don’t tell.

  3. I hide/keep ALL the package containers of the orders I got from the Book Depository (and other online bookstores). I don’t know why but I just do. Can you imagine the clutter those containers make? Still, I can’t get myself to throw them away.

  4. I have an obsessive-compulsive approach over book covers, their sizes and book format. If it’s a series, they have to match in theme, size and all that. Otherwise, I get restless.

  5. There are times when my friends invite me to go out some nights. I’d decline and say I have work or other stuff to do. The truth is I just wanted to finish the book I was currently reading. In my defense, it’s because I was in the zone… so stopping is not an option.

  6. Whenever I’m reading a book, and especially when I like the story, I imagine myself as one of the characters (sometimes the protag or some other supporting character, sometimes the villain even).

  7. If I like a book so much, I start to imagine if I can turn it into a CGI trailer/film or video game (I work as a 3D Graphics Artist). Sometimes I even go as far as creating a storyboard, get some references, etc. So far I haven’t been progressive over any of them, with a job, books to read and all that, it’s hard to find time to do it.

  8.  I have this impulse to find a good thing about any of the books I read as best as I could.

  9. Even though I’m not enjoying a certain book, I still have the urge to finish it no matter what.

  10. Over time, I noticed that my list of fictional crushes just seems to grow even more.
Well, that's it for me. How about you? Come on, fess up. You know you want to! :D
